In an exciting computing development, a group of our Year 8 students recently participated in The Industrial Cadets Bronze Award. This comprehensive program introduces young individuals to the industrial sector through practical STEM activities, site visits, and mentorship, fostering essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. The initiative also aims to highlight diverse career opportunities within engineering, manufacturing, and technology.
Collaborating with mentors from John Sisk, the students undertook a challenging project: designing a new Theme Park. They meticulously documented their designs in a detailed report and presented their innovative ideas to a panel of STEM industry professionals.
The program culminated in a celebration event on Friday, 4 July, held at Notting Hill and Ealing School. To our delight and surprise, our students were honoured with the prestigious Best Team Award!
Huge congratulations to Isabel, Yeleen, Suraya, Zefiryna, Ingrid, and Isra for their outstanding achievement!

Year 12 Politics Students met the PM!!
Last Monday night, Camden School for Girls got a call from Number 10: "Would we be able to bring some students to the British Museum to meet an undisclosed minister for an undisclosed event?". Our interest peaked. The Politics Team scrambled a team of ten Year 12 students to attend the mysterious event...
Much to our delight, the undisclosed minister was indeed Sir Keir Starmer, accompanied by no less than the President of France and the Premier Dame (Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron) and Culture Secretary, Lisa Nandy, as part of the state visit celebrating the agreement to lend the Bayeux Tapestry to the British Museum.

We were shown to our seats behind the dais and were in a prime spot to watch the speeches. Much to our delight, the PM's aide asked if the students would like to meet the PM afterwards (it was a firm 'yes' from them!). The pictures above show how it unfolded!

History Year 12 Trip
On Thursday 3rd and Monday 7th July, Year 12 history students enjoyed a fascinating walking tour exploring key sites from Stuart London.
The day began at Westminster Abbey, where students learned about royal coronations, before visiting the statue of Oliver Cromwell outside the Houses of Parliament to discuss his controversial role in British history. At the Banqueting House, the group reflected on the dramatic execution of Charles I, while Trafalgar Square provided a striking view of the statue of the monarch himself.
Students also visited St. Paul’s Cathedral, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and linked to Queen Anne, and concluded the tour at the Monument near Pudding Lane, where they explored the impact of the Great Fire of London and the tensions of the Exclusion Crisis. It was an engaging and informative experience that brought the period vividly to life.

DofE Bronze Expedition
Our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) participants recently completed their expedition, which included a three-day trek. Students also shared their experiences completing the personal, physical, and volunteering skill sections of the award.
Highlights from the Expedition:
- Training Day: The students practised navigation and equipment checks, enjoying scenic views.
- Day 1 & Setting Up Camp: The team walked for approximately six hours, arriving at camp on schedule ready to set up the tents despite windy conditions.
- Day 2: An early start helped avoid the heat, and the group completed their journey back to Chalfont and Latimer station.
- Cooking: The teams prepared meals like pesto pasta, pancakes and sandwiches, learning from both the successes and challenges of cooking in the field. We won’t be making pancakes again if we win the silver award.
- Expedition Aim: The team tracked participants' mental health and attitudes throughout the trip, planning to create a graph of their findings.

Physical & Personal Skill: Eva F utilised her Army Cadets training for both skills, learning navigation, drills, and discipline. She also highlighted her boxing sessions for her physical skill, which helped her prepare for the expedition.
A presentation on their DofE journey was held in the school last Wednesday. Well done to all students!

The Emirates Tour
Last Tuesday, 15 July, some students from Year 7 to Year 9 visited the Emirates Stadium, home of the Gunners. Here is what Hanna L. in Year 7 thought about this amazing visit.
Today me and a few students toured the Emirates Stadium which was such a cool experience.
We’ve got to explore behind the scenes of one of the most iconic football venues. It was awesome to see where the players get ready in the changing rooms and how they get prepared for big matches. I also learned a lot about Arsenal’s history, like the club’s legendary players and its epic moments in the Premier League. Walking through the trophy room made me feel like I was part of that legacy for a moment!
One of the highlights of the tour was definitely walking into the changing room with all their football kits! It was like each jersey told its own story. But the pitch was the best part! The grass was so clean and crisp, it looked straight out of a videogame! The lines were bright green, perfectly drawn. It was like the ground was ready for a big match at any second.
I would love to go there again, it was so much fun!
