Happy Founders Day 2025!

As we prepare to celebrate all that is Camden School for Girls on this Founders' Day, we are delighted to share with you the achievements and initiatives that your donations to the school have supported. A heartfelt thank you to all our donors - your support has been of vital importance to the school, benefiting all of our pupils.

If you have not as yet been able to donate but would like to do so, you can donate HERE. All donations of any size are very welcome and much appreciated.

Art

Your donations purchased a range of vital materials and equipment, including oil paints, new brushes, printing inks, printmaking tools and a table-top lino press. The most popular purchases were 2 sets of Pro marker graphics pens and 2 sets of nearly 100 coloured marker pens that students really enjoy using. They are especially useful for idea development in sketchbooks and for doing colour studies.

Drama

The show will go on! Thanks to your generosity, the Drama department will confidently be able to fund its amazing stage productions over the coming year. The Autumn term culminated with a wonderful production of Bakkhai, and a full-scale production of Legally Blonde is in production for the end of year showcase. Your donations have also contributed towards a total overhaul of our archaic stage lighting system.

Music

Many of our alumni will have fond memories of Music tours from years gone by, which were sadly unable to happen over the last 2 decades, due to financial pressures on the school. But they are now back and thanks to your support we are able to take a number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds who otherwise would not be able to attend.

We have 48 students from years 7 to 13 going on a tour to Belgium. We will be staying by the sea and performing at the historic Saint-Michielskerk in Ghent and the massive St Paul's Church in Antwerp. The orchestra will perform works by Mozart, Dvorak and Debussy over 4 days, and we are SO EXCITED for them.

We will also visit a chocolate factory and make our own chocolates! Thank you so much for making this possible. These are the experiences that our students will remember for the rest of their lives.

School spaces

Our SEND students are enjoying a much improved facility. The on-site kitchen where all our hot food is cooked has been refurbished, our IT network has undergone a major overhaul enhancing its wireless capabilities, our Sixth form electricity bill has been reduced with energy-efficient lighting and the main school 2nd floor classrooms and corridors are looking bright and fresh - all thanks to your generosity.
The government funding we receive does not cover redecoration of classrooms or other school areas, so once again your donations have been invaluable.

Library

Our new Librarian has been delighted to be able to invest in a whole range of  graphic novels for the library thanks to your donations. The students have been very helpful in sorting the delivery, and can't wait to get their hands on one after another of these hugely popular books!

Has your child borrowed one yet?
